Turtlezing Your Goals
The Adage says " Slow & Steady Wins the Race "
Turtle Traders, hit massive profits over 10 years earning 465 million dollars
How do you turtelize your performance, start with smaller goals and as you accomplish each of them , analyze your performance and record your learnings. When I started through this trading cycle, my goal was just to generate 2000$ per month. Then make sure its consistent and repeatable. Some months may not work in your favor, and that is acceptable. After all there is historical data on monthly performance available through various blogs. As long as you are able to keep the performance inline or better with the monthly performance you should do well.
Once the performance is consistent then you can plan to raise it to the next level. As you practice and repeat your performance, it will improve into the higher 4 digit numbers per month.
This not only builds your confidence but also improves the account balance. You might as well shoot for occasional 5 digit wins. I'll tell you what - it's not that easy to be consistent unless you have repeated it for several months.
Slowly work towards bettering your performance and it will take you there to the finish line
Lets say hypothetically you are shooting for a six figure annual profit, you need to have at-least several months of 5 digit gains before that is achievable. The journey from 4 digit to 5 digit is pretty easy but once that is achieved, going to six digit per month is a long way. But not that it's not doable.
Here I how I would set some goals today,

Here I how I would set some goals today,
- Hit 4 digits monthly profits
- Improve and be consistent for at-least 6 months
- Shoot for higher 4 digit profits occasionally
- Improve your average for atleast 3 months
- Hit 5 digit profit targets
- Improve your average and maintain it for over 1.5-2 years
- This will very easily take you to 6 figure per year and be consistent
- Then comes the daunting goal, sixer a month, BECAUSE, you will need to muster lot of courage to shoot for a monthly six figure win.
- is it achievabe, yes or if not why not ?
- is it repeatable, maybe
- what would be the level of risk involved - probably very high
- Understand the thought process and planning the execution is very important
- Once a plan is in place, all that is left is execution
- Most important is the plan; if planned well, execution will be super easy.

Price Targets
Analysts regularly post price targets on every security. What I have observed is that once price target is hit the stock tends to tank. Some times it may start to show signs well before reaching the target. For e.g. every one in the world & even Mars had a target of 28 on csco for the this year and it breifly hit 27.74 & started the roll over. The point I wanted to make is that "you are always better off liquidating a little bit below the price target". Just observe the price action on MNTA last month. While my target was 15 during hit exact 15 and the tanked. Ofcourse this happened during the options expiration week, so pinning forces were definitely in play.
One thing I have noticed is, rollover in Cisco points to a the market top. If we consider the corollary is true then the recent turnaround in Cisco could point to market bottom. Rotation to tech is happening & tech will be hot for next couple of months.

Short Break
Last month I had family visiting for a few weeks. It was a wonderful time and they got a chance to see the little one. Its wonderful to watch kids grow specially the first couple of years. They are a huge bundle of joy in tiny packages. I believe i will be able to get back to regular updates to the bog.

Markets sold off this week in what is being called flash crash. Sentiment seems to be weakend. Very few stocks are showing up in my scans. Several blogs are in wait & watch mode. The positive sign is that pullbacks have made higher lows and that trend hasn't been broken. This may just be a pull back that was being expected for a while. Sentiment indicator expects a rally in the short term.

Invest Like A Shark : 10 Commandments
I was just reading this book & came across the 10 commandments. Here is a excerpt from Invest Like a Shark - James L. “RevShark” DePorre
The Ten Commandments of Shark Investing
1. Thou Shalt Protect Thy Capital
2. Thou Shalt Use a Money Management System Without Fail
3. Thou Shalt Use Charts
4. Thou Shalt Diversify Not Only by Security but Also by Price and Time Frame
5. Thou Shalt Act Aggressively When the Odds Are in Thy Favor
6. Thou Shalt Not Be Afraid to Sell
7. Thou Shalt Respect the Illogic of the Market and the Role of Luck
9. Thou Shalt Be Patient, Persistent, and Methodical
10. Thou Shalt Never Stop Educating Thyself
Personally I believe I need to add more focus more 5 & 6, the rest are are already part of my method.
With significant strength in area 3. technical guy’s don’t worry about what is happening around economy too much, and just look @ the big picture. Lot of news articles, and articles about sky is falling , because it is like this – that will happen etc. are all opinions, but then there is something called Method...
Disciplined Methods always trounces opinions. .
